Were it not for glass, this would be quite a different world. Glass plays an important role in optics, as well as laboratory equipment, tableware, decorative items, art, windows and entire facades of contemporary minimalist buildings. Never before has glass been used so extensively. Its properties offer themselves for fresh imaginative designs and objects of glass add instantly a festive aesthetic touch to any table setting. This transparent material does not only allow one to look through glass panels from the inside out and vice versa but it also reflects the surroundings and shows additional perspectives. I have been especially fascinated by reflections in glass as it takes on a new dimension and stimulates one’s imagination.
